i don’t see willard doing it. he’s actually not as stupid as flake or kasich, and must know how deeply unpopular he is and that any national run against trump will totally finish his political career, rendering him a pariah in the Senate ...

if he DOES make an attempt, he’ll probably be frozen out by the party ... plus Trump is very likely to eschew any attempted “debates” by any primary attempts ...

As long as Trump remembers that it is NOT about him that ties his supporters to him so close, but it is rather about what he REPRESENTS (starting with secure borders, and holding the line on Amnesty) - then no one will have a prayer at challenging him in a Primary.
But give in on Amnesty, all bets are off regarding a challenge from the right. Bush Sr. learned that the hard way after breaking his No New Taxes promise. He had to fend off a strong challenge from Pat Buchanan, which forced him to pivot hard-right, and made him an easy target for Clinton (and Perot) that November.
But regardless of Amnesty, as long as Trump is running, there is simply NO WAY anyone from the Left will be able to lay a finger on him - only from the right, and only if he sells us out. If people like Kasich do choose to run, they are doing it to be there, should Trump not be on the ticket in 2020 - and I’m sure they know that, or will learn it really, really, quick.
