Today, it is tempting to imagine that Trump’s impeachment and removal would take the country back to a saner, simpler time. This illusion ignores the enduring forces that brought Trump to power as well as the risks of impeachment itself...
[Jeffrey] Engel warns that impeachment “disrupts the American political landscape as few other events do, leaving scars for generations.” A failed impeachment drive could encourage the president’s most dangerous impulses, and even if it succeeds, impeachment only kicks out an offending leader, “it doesn’t fix the democratic decline that brought [him] to power,” [Laurence] Tribe and [Joshua] Matz remind.
Catch that? Once again, leftists think when they lose, it's a "democratic decline," not a Democratic decline. The next sentence:
“It doesn’t undo the havoc he wreaked while in office. And it doesn’t forestall the trauma of expelling him.” They worry that core supporters of the impeached leader would consider his removal “a gussied-up coup d’etat” and walk away from the American project, drift toward revolutionary politics or even commit violence — “especially if the ousted president refuses to depart gracefully and instead terrorizes the polity that rejected him.” And a graceful exit is hard to imagine under current management.
Yet not undertaking impeachment can be momentous as well.
Lozada concludes the piece by insisting Trump doesn't represent all the people, as if....Obama did??? Just because the Posties gushed over how "the sun glinted off his chiseled pectorals" didn't mean everyone did.

“They” are walking back the impeachment talk. The excuse is lame but the effect is still “they” are having second thoughts about it. Good.
So, we should all be gentlemanly losers like Romney, McCain etc., if there is a successful legal coup based upon political justice, not the rule of law? We should all smile at being disenfranchised? No way.
YOU represent the "democratic decline" in your abandonment of the virtues necessary to preserve this great Constitutional Republic.

Must have numbers showing that impeaching the golden goose isn’t popular with their below-elite constituency.
Excuse me, but just who is getting violent?
It’s wise to worry. I consider what they are attempting as a coup and promise a disproportionate response.
If the fear of violence is the one factor that’ll shut them up about impeachment, no problem.
Deterrence is what kept the US and USSR from rolling the Cold War into hot-war status. It has great value, actually.
They only say stuff like that to excite their idiotic base. Start talking about impeachment and the snowflakes get so caught up their dismalcratic leaders can wreak more havoc in plain sight.

Notice how they emphasize Impeachment in the House but omit any mention of Conviction and Removal in the Senate - as if just being Impeached is all it takes.
Sounds like he needs to go shave with his(?) ‘jill-ette’ products and lose some masculine ‘toxsissieness’ and touch his femine side.
