It’s a 1397 year war launched by Mad Mo in 622 A.D.
Took them a while to conquer all the way to the Philippines.
They almost took France in 732.
Church was there before muzzies??
Duarte needs to let loose the hounds of Hell on the Muslim scum. he is quite capable. We should give him some aid to do just that.
Problem is he hates Catholics just as much.
Truly..? Is Dutarte a muslim??
He hates all religions.
They got there sometime in the fifteenth century.
The tail end of taking over the old Hindu-Buddhist Majapahit Empire of whats now Indonesia.
The Spanish got there, fortuitously, just in time.
No, Jolo was Muslim for around four centuries before any church.
It was only conquered by Spain in 1876.
That’s a step too far for the Filipino world view.
If they were Burmese it would be an option.
Soon Jesus Christ will loose the real hounds of hell on all who do not bear His name. They will wish they only had to deal with with Duarte. Are you ready for His return? Its coming soon
So is it open season on moslems living in areas where *they* are a small minority?
Muzzies were there prior to Christianity?
Islam seems to have been established in the Philippines in the 13th century. Possibly some Christian Arabs were there before that, but Christianity wasn’t really established there until the 16th century with the coming of the Spaniards.
“I lived in SF for several years and knew many (Catholic/Evangelical Christian) Filipinos from that region.”
Same with me when I was there, lots of them in the Bay area.
They are very pro American and remember we liberated them from the Japanese in WWII.
K, thanks for the history lesson, appreciate it.
Oh yes.
Legaspi’s expedition found the Muslims already in possession of the southern islands in 1565.
For that matter Manila itself was under a Muslim chieftain when Goiti’s expedition took it in battle, in 1570.
No, the Philippines is a (mostly, in most places) a civilized country. There are even a few Muslims living in Manila. On the whole there is remarkably little friction.
Except around the actual “bloody border”, in Mindanao, generally in the Muslim provinces themselves.
