We already knew that Native American activist Nathan Phillips was not a Vietnam veteran as the media had repeatedly misreported. Reporters were under that impression because in multiple interviews Phillips had always strongly implied it — without coming right out and saying it. And although the media has misreported his military record for years, he never bothered to correct the record until he was called out on it today.

I knew he was lying when he used the phrase ‘Recon Ranger’ to describe his service.
There’s in no such thing. It’s called ‘Force Recon’. The term ‘Recon ranger’ is only used in a boot camp PT jogging chant...............

I've never tried to trade on my military service, but this guy really ticks me off. I spent nearly two years in SEA, mostly in Thailand, but some time in Vietnam. Frauds like him really upset me. Stolen Valor should be a felony with severe penalties.
