Dogs are not food animals. Sheep are. So are cattle, hogs, chickens, rabbits, geese, turkeys, etc..

We don’t eat dogs because ... we don’t want to.

my personnel belief is that there is a social contract that predates history. When man chose to allow the precursor to what we call dogs to sit with us by the fire... we have used them for hunting, protection and companionship. we are there custodians. while I wont be overly critical of those who have decided they are a food source. I think it is proper that we live up to that unspoken agreement to look out for each other in our own way. I wont eat dog.
