The number of illegal immigrants who showed up at the U.S. border in need of medical attention has soared in recent weeks, even as the number of large groups has also surged.
Both trends are proving to be serious impediments to Border Patrol agents, who say they’re being taken off line watch duties to either shepherd the sick as they go to the hospital, or have to process the groups of people — leaving other parts of the border unsecured.
In one large group of 247 people, 50 of them had to be taken to the hospital, requiring nearly every available agent to leave the field to tag along.
“Smugglers and traffickers then use these large groups as ‘cover’ while USBP resources are utilized to arrest and [for] detention-related duties associated with the large groups,” U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.

Apparently, the entire Mexico-USA border is divided into various gang or cartel sections.
If ANY immigrant attempts to cross the border illegally, they must first pay the local gang or cartel, or they risk being shot on sight.
Amazing - on our side of the border, they get free food, free shelter, free medical care, free lawyers, and the rule of law.
On the other side, they pay criminals, under threat of death, just to leave Mexico!
Don’t they have any doctors and hospitals in Mexico/Tijuana?
I know lots of people from the USA go a bit south of the border to get medical treatments, dental and prescription drugs.
Sick people should not be able to cross the border until they are well and have applied in their own countries.
We need extensions of the wall and also more border agents.
Can’t Trump just have some hired?
