I’m painfully aware of once being RIF’d from my job of several years and going to the local Unemployment Office. The “clerk” there told me that she wasn’t sorry for me as my wages were much more than she was being paid. I reminded her that my taxes were helping to pay her salary and if she was unhappy with her work situation, she should get a job in the private sector, if she met the qualifications. Oh yeah, no freebies of any kind or offers of assistance from any business or community entity. No free meals or treats from restaurants, and the like. Just suck it up, buttercup.
