Watch the ABC video at this link. Bottom line: Illegals are getting welfare (via the earned income tax credit).
Humblegunner this is NOT my blog it just came up when I wanted to share the video so please don't say I'm pushing my blog. If you would like to copy and paste the whole thing please do.

LOL!
It’s not a “refund” if it’s a subsidy.
It’s welfare. They just hide it in our tax code.
If the gov’t wants to give out welfare we should at least make the people go stand in line for it.
The left uses language to confuse, not to clarify.
https://www.wthr.com/article/tax-loophole-costs-billions:
The Internal Revenue Service says everyone who is employed in the United States even those who are working here illegally must report income and pay taxes. Of course, undocumented workers are not supposed to have a social security number. So for them to pay taxes, the IRS created what’s called an ITIN, an individual taxpayer identification number. A 9-digit ITIN number issued by the IRS provides both resident and nonresident aliens with a unique identification number that allows them to file tax returns.
While that may have seemed like a good idea, it’s now backfiring in a big way.
Each spring, at tax preparation offices all across the nation, many illegal immigrants are now eagerly filing tax returns to take advantage of a tax loophole, using their ITIN numbers to get huge refunds from the IRS.
The loophole is called the Additional Child Tax Credit. It’s a fully-refundable credit of up to $1000 per child, and it’s meant to help working families who have children living at home.
But 13 Investigates has found many undocumented workers are claiming the tax credit for kids who live in Mexico lots of kids in Mexico.
Yup!
And they get WIC, housing, Medicaid, and SNAP through their anchor babies.
Tax refund? What is that?
You mean the money I pay Uncle each year?
> using their ITIN numbers to get huge refunds from the IRS <
Does that mean they getting back money that they previously paid to the IRS? If that’s so, then it’s up to the IRS to verify that those “children” actually exist, and are in the US.
A relative had a auto dealership a few years ago here in TX. Mexicans would show up with $35,000 in cash from their EIC refund and buy a truck. Auto dealers are probably hoping those IRS payments are not delayed this year by the shutdown .
Mexicans can also list nieces and nephews in Mexico to qualify for EIC refunds. No one checks to see if these kids exist. Illegals get first class treatment by our government, while US taxpayers are treated like suspects.
Think about this.
Millions of illegals are continuing to receive welfare checks while 800,000 legal citizens are getting NOTHING!
Thanks Nancy.
That’s the loophole. They don’t have to actually exist.
More proof that the Democrats will destroy the United States of America.
Refugees and asylum seekers receiving the EITC? WTF!!! Shouldn’t those freeloading bastards be paying US?
It's worse that that - "fully-refundable credit" means you can get more than you paid.
Does that mean they getting back money that they previously paid to the IRS?
NO, it means they get what they paid in plus they get the “earned income credit” if their earnings are under a certain level plus they get the tax credits which are nothing more than a direct payment from the treasury.
Ole.
So how does an illegal file taxes? He doesn’t have a SS#. Do employers simply pay illegals in cash or do illegals use someone else’s SS#?
This is not on the ABC national network site, only on a local ABC affiliate. I’m not surprised but I would be surprised if it ever is on the national network.
I begged my Rep Joe Wilson by email, written letter and on the phone to please do something about this last year when tax relief was being discussed.
You can see how much success I had. Very disappointed.
