WASHINGTON Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, facing fallout from a lawsuit claiming she fired an aide who said she was sexually assaulted by a supervisor at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, said on Wednesday she had decided to resign as the foundations chairwoman.
Ms. Jackson Lee, a Texas Democrat in her 13th term, also stepped aside temporarily from an important House Judiciary subcommittee chairmanship, the committee said.
Ms. Jackson Lee made the decision to step aside from both roles as pressure was growing within her own party to account for the claims in a Jan. 11 lawsuit brought by a woman who worked in her congressional office and who said she was sexually assaulted by a Black Caucus Foundation supervisor. Ms. Jackson Lee has adamantly denied that she fired the woman for retribution after the woman indicated she wanted to pursue legal action, but she planned to say Wednesday that she would step aside nonetheless.
Members of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundations board had given Ms. Jackson Lee an ultimatum late last week after the claims became public: step down as chairwoman or face a vote of removal as soon as this week, according to an official familiar with the conversations who was not authorized to discuss them.

Surely the media will be demanding her resignation anytime now.
Black - check
Female - check
Democrat - check
Race baiter - check
Crazed socialist moron - check
She’s untouchable.
....and the rover still hasn’t landed on Mars ya dumb chit!
Untouchable by anyone other than her own Black Caucus colleagues, apparently.
Too bad for all as she is one of the smarter Democrats. /s
If anyone wanted to “touch” her, they should have a mental competency exam immediately.
I miss the days when SJL and Mad Maxine would try to outdo each other for weeks on end over an issue. I can’t remember the last time SJL talked about the flag Neil Armstrong put on Mars or anything else like that. Maybe Johnson’s concern that Guam would tip over was too much for her - no way to compete with Mad Max AND Hank so just keep getting reelected and take the money.
Or, is it possible that she is the only member (R or D) who has become wiser and more ethical while in government? More likely her handlers just clamped down - Soros wants her vote but not her voice. AOC should pay attention whatever the reason - she’s well on the way to having a history that can compete with SJL, Mad Max, and Hank. And nobody wants that.
Violated the #MeToo movement - counter-check.
She may be in for a rough patch with her own party.
Don’t forget the gGermans dropping the A bomb on Pearl Harbor.
Sheila Jackson-Lee was born on January 12, 1950 in Queens, New York. She
graduated from Jamaica High School in Queens, New York in 1968. She then
graduated from Yale University in Connecticut with a B.A. in political science
in 1972 followed in 1975 by a J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School.
After graduating from law school Jackson-Lee moved to Houston, Texas after her
husband, Dr. Elwyn C. Lee accepted a job offer from the University of Houston.
Dr. Lee is currently Vice Chancellor and Vice President for Student Affairs at
the University of Houston. Jackson-Lee was in private practice from 1975 to
1987 when she was elected a Houston municipal judge. Jackson-Lee then ran for
a seat on the Houston City Council in 1990. In 1994 Shelia Jackson-Lee was
elected as a Democrat to represent the 18th Congressional District of Texas.
She currently holds that seat.
I bet there are a lot of women around R Kelly supporting him, even still. Sexual abuse hits all communities, and the more powerful the men, the more they get away with.
Somehow I am thinking that the decision was made under duress.
Graduated from prestigious universities and still a moron. That this low-life carpetbagger from NY has been elected to her 13th term to represent a Houston congressional district is proof that some people should not have the right to vote.
