Go to a Junior High School science fair and you are bound to see a “Cosmic Ray Detector”. Uses alcohol vapor instead of water vapor because we are at high pressure here on the ground compared to up in the Earth’s atmosphere. But they do make clouds. So even a 7th grader should be able to reason that cosmic rays have an effect on our climate. Waiting for the day that cosmic ray detectors are banned from science fairs.

Yep; so simple even a caveman can understand it’s the sun stupid.

The glo-bull worming religion can’t tax the sun soooooo.... CO2 it is.

And since CO2 has increased by approximately 1/100th of 1% the tree line may have gone up a proportionate amount. Maybe a foot or so. If it were temperature Siberia wouldn’t have forests. It does. BTW, which is heavier, a molecule made of 2 atoms of Oxygen or a molecule made of 2 atoms of Oxygen and an atom of Carbon? Climb to the top of Pikes Peak and think about it.

The sun creates weather. Pretty elementary science.

LOL! So will they ignore Dr. Higgs or smear him?

Actually, in the last 50 years the CO2 level in the atmosphere has increased about 30%, from ~310 ppm to a little over 400 ppm.

they could empty the entire treasury and have no effect at eliminating global warming/cooling or climate change.

And that wouldn’t bother them at all.

as a mechanical engineer with 30 years experience in thermo dynamic modeling i would agree the heat from the sun effects the earth’s climate. If you remove the sun would the weather change. Another problem are boundary conditions, your climate models are contingent on how the analysts sets up the models. If you change one condition the model could change considerably and the results would be junk. Does anyone besides the modelers know how they set up the analysis?

As a fellow sedimentologist and geologist I 100% agree with him. The sedimentary record is littered with periods of CO2 levels well above 1000ppm and no catastrophes were noted.

Devastating news for human-caused global warming proponents. “The sun, not CO2, drives Earth’s climate,” says Dr Roger Higgs, long-time consultant geologist and sedimentologist.

OH, Noes. Not the Sun again.

Everybody knows it's warmer at night when the sun is down and in the Winter when the sun is away from your portion of the earth. Oh, noes.

I think Svensmark’s Theory is brilliant. His book ‘The Chilling Stars’ is excellent and probably one of the best books on climate.

In addition to the sun, I’d throw in the movement of the magnetic North Pole.

That moves the pole. How does pole movement make for global warming?
