Identical Democratic proposals introduced in the New Mexico House and Senate say state agencies would be barred from cooperating with federal immigration authorities seeking to hold or deport immigrants suspected of being in the U.S. illegally.
The authority of sheriffs and jails to hold federal immigrant detainees also would see new limits.
In addition, state agencies couldnt use public funds to help federal authorities in detecting, apprehending, arresting, detaining or prolonging the detention of a person facing possible deportation.

The November election put the radical left-wing Democrats in charge of all aspects of NM Government and they are being pushed by activists who believe it was time for the state to join the national [illegal] immigration movement.
Are we a union of law-abiding states or not? Are we a single nation when it comes to enforcing gay-marriage, Obamacare, and abortion, but 50 separate states when we try to have immigration law? Time to decide!
Hey if we’re going to start picking and choosing which laws we decide to obey and enforce, I’ve got a few I’d like to start ignoring. So if they want to set the precedent, bravo, let’s go.
Pull all federal funding .. period,, until said law is scratched..
Actions have consequences too.
I have said it before. I think the DHS should bus ALL illegals from El Paso and area up I-25 and drop them ALL in the downtown plaza in Santa Fe. Let the dims in SF feed, clothe, and bathe them.
The Leftists will use the old Land Grant issues to push their agenda. It’s worked before.
“They only want to live on the land that is rightfully theirs”, etc, etc.
In another interesting development, it appears that AZ wants to tax porn and use the proceeds to build a wall on their southern border.
The remaining land goes back to Mexico or native Americans?
Very good idea. Put them up in La Fonda and Inn of Loretto.
And the governors mansion is up the hill.
The Land Grants were granted by the King of Spain before Mexico was Mexico.
You make a good point. It would need to go back to the natives, I suppose.
Spaniards were the owners of the original land grants.
Sanctuary state = war zone

What is interesting to me is how many mostly conservative areas of the state flipped to the Dems. I think vote fraud here had a lot to do with it. There were a lot of groups going around asking about voters at our residence. Id like to see if the former residents where I live voted locally. I still get official Social Security Admin mail for the wife, almost four years after they moved out. We got asked about the prior residents a couple of times when these unnamed groups came by.
Good luck flying out of that state without a passport or passport card for ID.
