More like given up on the intelligence of the average voter. Harris has too many attributes that your average dummy would swoon over. Additionally, Trump’s margin of victory was razor-thin. To expect a repeat is extremely optimistic

You want to hear optimism? I think Trump will garner more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016. A lot more.

The liberal press paints him as weak and vulnerable, when nothing could be further from the truth. It's all agitprop, designed to condition the Deplorables into thinking that we can't win, and that a full resumption of Democrat control of our government is inevitable.

It's not. Not unless you and millions of others fall for it, and surrender before the fight has even started.

Yeah...because that's what I said. There is a difference is surrendering and looking at the layout of the battlefield and making a realistic assessment. SMH.

And to piggy-back off of what I said about being a realist: one makes you fight even harder...the other makes you think "we've got this in the bag!

One makes you think "we are in the fight of our lives and we better fight like we are 10 points behind...and the other makes you ost things like "the polls are rigged"..."we are going to PICK UP seats in the house during the 2018 mid-terms..."..."we are going to get 60 seats in the senate"...etc

Pie in the sky optimism is silly. I've been on this site since 1998 and I've seen it every election cycle. Every election cycle I've had to endure post after post on how rigged the polls were and how we were going to stomp the dems in the '98 congressional elections. Bush was going to trounce Gore in 2000. There was no WAY Obama was going to win in 2008. yada yada yada. It seems some people are more comfortable with fantasy than they are reality and when someone wants to inject a dose of reality...they say they are surrendering.

That is not the case. It's just a dose of reality. I'm a 32 year retired vet. I've never surrendered from ANYTHING. I'm also a native TEXAN...6 great nephew of Davey Crocket. I don't give up. But I do keep it real. The vote in Texas for senate showed A LOT.

It showed that even here in Texas people can be duped by smooth talk and lots of money and a clean look. If you don't think that is just reality...you have FORGOTTEN the lessons of 2008 and 2012...and you will pay the price in 2020.
