Judicial Watch announced Jan 18, 2019 that it obtained documents through a FOIA lawsuit against the US Air Force. The documents detailed then-House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) 2015 Congressional delegation (CODEL) to Italy and Ukraine billed $134,587.81 plus $50,000 for an advance of funds for an “escort officer.”
Judicial Watch filed the Dec 2015 FOIA lawsuit after the Air Force failed to respond to J/W's August 2015 request (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Defense (No 1:15-cv-02236)) for:

<><>All records concerning transportation costs for transporting members of Congress
<><>All passenger manifests (DD-2131) for transporting members of Congress

The documents show (a shocking pleasure trip on the taxpayers' dime). From July 30 to August 6, Pelosi traveled to Milan, Rome and Naples, Italy, and Kiev, Ukraine, for herself, her husband, several members of congress and their spouses. The Italy trip included Milan, Rome and Naples with visits to the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, Duomo and viewing Da Vinci’s “Last Supper.”
The documents also show the Air Force’s negative response to a Pelosi staff request for a specific crew for Pelosi’s flight. An official notes that it: “would be a disastrous precedent to set even if it were possible.” The Air Force further points out: “Our ARC crews have plenty to balance already with military duties and their civilian employers.”
The documents also detail a CODEL trip for Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO), who traveled commercial flights to Asia, including Tokyo and Okinawa, Japan; Seoul, Korea; plus Beijing and Hong Kong, China. This trip, with flights and per diems, cost at least $26,009.03.
Judicial Watch previously uncovered that Pelosi’s military travel cost the United States Air Force $2,100,744.59 over one two-year period — $101,429.14 of which was for in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol.
“Speaker Pelosi has a demonstrated record of abusing the perks of office that give her access to military luxury travel paid for by taxpayers,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. Judicial Watch’s work exposing Pelosi’s travel abuses resulted in her successor John Boehner declining to use Air Force luxury jets to travel to his Ohio congressional district.

The San Francisco congresswoman has apparently taken to flying in style. And not just any style but military charter style, according to e-mails released this week. Pelosi’s staff has allegedly been “berating” military officials to get the best planes possibly for the speaker to fly across country, according to e-mails obtained by the government watchdog group Judicial Watch (you can read all the emails on their site) and first reported by The New York Post.
“Taken together, these documents show that Speaker Pelosi treats the Air Force like her personal airline,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton in a statement. “Not only does Speaker Pelosi issue unreasonable requests for military travel, but her office seems unconcerned about wasting taxpayer money with last minute cancellations and other demands.”
Pelosi allegedly demanded that the military provide nonstop flight service when she flies home to the Bay Area. But that’s not all. The emails show Pelosi demanding police protection on government planes. She even has a particular plane that is her favorite. What is the plane of choice for a Speaker of the House? Well Nancy Pelosi prefers to fly in Gulfstream’s G-5, made famous by Jay Z and 50-Cent rap videos. “It is my understanding there are no G-5s available for the House during the Memorial Day recess. This is totally unacceptable . . . The speaker will want to know where the planes are,” a Pelosi aide wrote in one of the e-mails to the military.
In another email the aide wanted one of the G-5s for a House delegation while they were already being used for senators and cabinet members.
“This is not good news, and we will have some very disappointed folks, as well as a very upset speaker,” the e-mail said.

We know something about Congressional junkets, because we’ve been documenting the questionable travel of both presidents and congressmen for years. With Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s latest CODEL cancellation by President Trump on the front pages, we can offer some interesting context.

Where was the media scrutiny when Pelosi abused military travel for YEARS? Judicial Watch uncovered Pelosi’s abuse of military travel on taxpayer dime which included bringing members of her family aboard and serving them top shelf liquor.
“Purchases for one Pelosi-led CODEL on May 15-20, 2008 included: Johnny Walker Red scotch, Grey Goose vodka, E&J brandy, Bailey’s Irish Crème, Maker’s Mark whiskey, Courvoisier cognac, Bacardi Light rum, Jim Beam whiskey, Beefeater gin, Dewar’s scotch, Bombay Sapphire gin,” Tom Fitton said.

If you thought the midterm elections had problems, wait until you learn about Nancy Pelosi’s plan to terminate state control over American elections. Democrats in Congress have announced their top legislative priority, and it isn’t health care, immigration, or taxes. Instead, they want to centralize power over elections in Washington, D.C. H.R. 1 is number one on the legislative agenda because it is the number one priority of House Democrats, leftist groups, deep-pocketed dark money, and those who use election process rules to help win elections — or at least to cause chaos.
The bill is a 571-page dreamscape of wild wishes and federal mandates on states.H.R. 1 has 218 cosponsors. It forces states to implement mandatory voter registration. If someone is on a government list — such as receiving welfare benefits or rental subsidies — then they would be automatically registered to vote. Few states have enacted these systems because Americans still view civic participation as a voluntary choice. Moreover, aggregated government lists always contain duplicates and errors that states, even without mandatory voter registration, frequently fail to catch and fix.
H.R. 1 also mandates that states allow all felons to vote. Currently, states have the power under the Constitution to set the terms of eligibility in each state. Some states, like Maine, have decided that voting machines should be rolled into the prisons. Other states, like Nevada, have chosen to make a felony a disenfranchising event. H.R. 1 also undermines the First Amendment by exerting government control over political speech and undoing the Supreme Court’s Citizen’s United decision. Like Napoleon returning from Elba, Pelosi expects the landscape to be identical or nearly so to the last time she saw it as leader.
The media has changed massively since 2011. One might even say they have disappeared. So-called reporters float around and tweet about trifles...cable outlets are 24-hr bitchfests. 90% of the media are surplus to requirements since primary sources are available to the public without the need for ‘analysis’ by a hack in the swamp.
Pelosi expects her old mates to run interference for her but her old mates either have retired or have been drowned out by their peers - especially when they amplify the groupthink. Nobody is doing any favors for members of Congress UNLESS there are juicy leaks involved and Pelosi is accustomed to hagiographies without having to repay the favor.
Like the Clintons, she is relying on 1990s tactics a quarter of a century later. She’s old(er), quite obviously suffering from cognitive breakdown and flat-out confused about a great many things. She freely substitutes conjecture and wishful thinking for fact and history - nothing new there but there is a desperation evident in her tone now.
