1. The price in return has to be very high (like $25B for the wall and major changes to our chain immigration and asylum laws).
2. The DACA immigrants have to be given a path that leads to permanent residency status, not citizenship.
Well put.
Fact is that no one wants a “comprehensive” immigration reform but us and Trump.
The establishment wants confusion and fear.
$25B isn’t ‘high’ - that one time cost amounts to a small percentage of the hundreds of billions illegals cost the citizens *ANNUALLY*
NO. DACA.
That’s a good starting point. I also wouldn’t want to see a blanket path to citizenship. Anyone with any criminal activity in their background must not have a path to citizenship. There must also be a price to pay to get on the path. $500 a head sounds right.
Trump comes out for DACA kids, but the price is more than Dems will pay.
Pins the blame for no DACA deal on the Dems, just like last time.
What was the Goodlatte Bill again? Or Trump’s points from last year?
Fund the whole wall ($25B), end chain migration, end the lottery? Go to merit-based immigration criteria?
I guess we critically need asylum reform now as well.
In return for legalizing DACA who meet quality cuts, and more visas for skilled immigrants.
I’m with you.
