Calls for President Donald Trump's impeachment grew among Democrats on Friday after a report said he had directed Michael Cohen, his personal lawyer and fixer at the time, to lie to Congress about negotiations to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.
BuzzFeed News on Thursday evening reported that Cohen told special counsel Robert Mueller the president personally instructed him to lie to Congressional investigators in order to minimize links between Trump and his Moscow building project, citing two federal law enforcement officials involved in an investigation of the matter. The report also alleged that Cohen was directed to give a false impression that the project had ended before it actually did.
NBC News has not independently confirmed this report.
Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, called the allegation the most serious to date Thursday evening and said that his committee would look into the matter.
The allegation that the President of the United States may have suborned perjury before our committee in an effort to curtail the investigation and cover up his business dealings with Russia is among the most serious to date, Schiff said in a tweet. We will do whats necessary to find out if its true.

Let's "do what is necessary to find out if it's true".
the Dims and the media are so animated by every unsubstantiated allusion that I can't wait to see the look on the collective faces when they present their case and EVERYONE goes "really? You demanded out attention for THAT?"
It would be a bigger political disaster since the Clinton impeachment...by orders of magnitude.
And I'm betting Trump is goading them into it deliberately.
Never mind that the “reporter” is walking this back and saying he didn’t really see the evidence himself.
And has a long history of articles that aren’t true
“Bombshell! It’s the beginning of the end for the Trump administration, the walls are closing in!”
Rinse and repeat as needed.
By all means lets go with the media narrative and also believe anything that Cohen says. LOL
Take a couple of minutes to enjoy the skewering of Bat Guano Crazy Libs!
Dear Mr President...call if you need us...
So the “evidence” is from a known liar?
There is nothing illegal or impeachable about talking to your lawyer.
BuzzFeed admitted this morning they have no proof. As usual. Take notes this will make great material for future history books. These folks are going to make the Third Reich look like a Puerto Rican Junction junket

But it’s the seriousness of the charges and all that. Haha.
They really think they could impeach our President and there would be no consequences.
Well if it’s in the papers it must be true. As Mark Twain wrote: If you don’t read the papers you’re uninformed; if you do read the papers you’re misinformed.
The entire story is PURE BULL$HIT being greatly inflated by the LEFT leaning media.
Isn’t this the report that has no verified source and has already been more-or-less retracted?
Here, I’ll file a report that Nancy Pelosi killed Jewish children to inject them in her face.
Of course, in the Democratic Party, that will probably get her the presidential nomination.
They claim this came from MUELLER’s team. That is a first. If true why didn’t this go to the Times?
Is “this is the most serious allegation to date” a tacit admission that all of the dozens of previous allegations were unserious?
Another anonymously sourced “report.”
In a related thread, Buzzfeed admits it has not seen the actual evidence/report.
Sounds like the early days of the Pee Dossier. IIRC, Buzzfeed was the one who finally published reports about it — so that other news venues could report about it.
Buzzfeed should be listed as ‘zero credible’; no surprise that NBC News would now have an article about the Buzzfeed article.
Since it worked then, it should work now — Creative Journalism 101.
