This guy is a logical fruitcake. He says “by passing a simple background check”, which by definition IS NOT an open border. If you don’t pass the check, we have to have some means of still excluding you. Hence, no open borders. And I am not going to accept letting any drug runner, sexual offender, or murderer in, just because they want to be here.

This idea is truly insane. I’m a democrat and am aghast at this idea. Open borders would cause a human tsunami that would completely overwhelm our schools, hospitals, infrastructure, housing, social services, and seriously degrade the environment. NYC, LA, SF, and other large US cities are already dealing with record numbers of homeless due to housing shortages. The infrastructure in many US cities (hello NYC) can barely handle the people already here. The author tries to make the argument that just because someone was born in the US doesn’t mean that they are more deserving to live here than someone who was not. The author is essentially saying that the lottery of birth is not fair. Using that logic then someone born into a rich family is no more deserving to their family money and assets than someone born into a poor family. Sorry but life isn’t fair, and the world is seriously overpopulated with not enough resources to go around. That’s reality. If the democrats take up an open borders agenda then be ready for the reelection of Trump and a republican majority.

After a while, the open borders proponents would be looking for a different country to move to, since the one they opened the borders in, would cease to exist.
Can’t bring the world’s population to one spot where everyone wants to live, it will be the ruin of whatever country allows this.
The funny thing about open borders... the poorest and the most uneducated come across ours and those of Western Europe.... no one is rushing to get into Saharan Africa or Middle East hell-holes. Why is that Farhad!?

But if we are going to compete with India & China then we need to educate our young with skills that allow them to compete. I read that 25% of Calf has not got past the 9th grade. Those people in the caravans all must be engineers and software developers. Meanwhile the kids we got that do go to college are in debt equaling a small house for a useless degree in Underwater Sports Mgt.
I want to go to Mecca and relieve myself on that black stone there. is the border open for me to do that? If not, we need a wall as well.
