Rep. Ilhan Omar defended a 2012 tweet in which she invoked Allah to expose Israel’s “evil doings” during an interview with Amanpour & Company on Tuesday night.
The controversial tweet, which is still online, reads, “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel. #Gaza #Palestine #Israel.”
“Can I just move on to something that’s generally a rite of passage for politicians in the United States, and that is to sort of profess sort of fealty — or pay homage to AIPAC, the pro-Israel PAC that is very, very prominent,” Amanpour began. “Should Jewish Americans be worried about Congresswoman Ilhan Omar or Rashida Tlaib because of the BDS Movement, because of one of the tweets you made a long time ago.”
She continued, “You are a part of a new wave of Democrats not afraid to be critical of the government of Israel. And during the 2012 military offensive in Gaza, you tweeted ‘Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.’ How do you put that into context now and what do you say to American Jews.”
“So, I remember when that was happening watching tv and really feeling as if no other life was being impacted in this war. And that really — those unfortunate words were the only words I could think about expressing at that moment,” Omar responded. “And what is really important to me is that people recognize that there is a difference between criticizing a military action by a government that has exercised really oppressive policies and being offensive or attacking to particular people of faith.”

I think Israel has been a lot more long-suffering than I would have been with the Arab leadership on the West Bank and in Gaza.
The Arabs got their land at the same time Israel did in 1948.
Look what Israel did with it’s land.
Look what the Arabs did with theirs.
There’s no question that Israel applied itself, and developed a pretty decent nation.
There’s also no question that the Arabs refused to develop their own nation, and opted to try to destroy Israel instead.
The Arabs can point to 1948 and whine all they like, but the fact is these two factions could not live together in peace. An attempt was made to come to a decent settlement.
Israel is not constantly trying to destroy the Arabs on the West Bank and in Gaza. It has Arabs living in peace inside Israel.
Does anyone think Israeli citizens could live side by side with the Arabs and survive on the West Bank or in Gaza?
The idea Israel is the aggressor here, is not supportable > IMO.

Notice how the media whore Amanpour tries to dismiss something Little Miss Jihad said several years ago, but if a Republican said something that was “off”, she’d go off on a media rant binge of biblical proportions.
