House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday urged President Donald Trump in a letter to either reschedule his State of the Union address or deliver it in writing to Congress while the government continues to be partially shut down.

No problem. He can deliver the address on national TV from the WH, while also sending a written copy of it to Congress, wherever they might be vacationing at the time.

An empty House and his statements that PELOSI and the rest of the DEMS have not submitted a budget, nor are they actively working to resolve anything would be devastating to the left.
The moderates, indies, and former democrats like myself have had enough of her and the grandstanding nonsense.
She can withdraw her invitation. The President cannot enter the floor of the House without the permission of the Speaker.
Nothing in the Constitution says the President has to deliver the SOTU in person. He can submit it to Congress in writing.
Just as well with no Democrats around to hear the address anyway.
She’s supposed to sit behind him during the speech. He should blue-dot her, like a Kennedy-rape accuser.

Article II, Section III only says “from time to time”.
President Trump should do it anyway. Call in all the members of congress and let our fellow Americans - heck, the whole world - see just which of our so-called leaders are actually trying to get something done about the shut-down, about anything.
After all, although there’s a government shut down, these men & women of congress are STILL being paid, are they not?
Where is biggest covered stadium that he might use? Else, since presidents usually go on “tour” after SOTU, maybe do one in each or most states. Plenty to share.
Maybe she couldn’t get enough prunes to suck on during the speech. She knows the Dems booing and hissing and sleeping is just MORE horrible optics for them.

No, no date is specified, and, in fact, no address is even required. The Constitution simply says that the President must report on the SOTU from time to time. It could be in writing, for instance.
Imagine the potential camera angles during the SOTU speech.
