There are over 300 “sanctuary” communities that protect criminal undocumented immigrants from federal deportation authorities, but a new list highlights the “super sanctuaries” that hide millions.
That list is led by the Washington, D.C. area, Chicago, New York City, and all of California, which is threatening to expand protections for immigrants in the United States illegally.
“Not satisfied with keeping ICE out of jails and courthouses, some sanctuaries are taking it a step further,” said a report from the Center for Immigration Studies.
“Many jurisdictions, often major cities, are NOW USING TAX PAYER FUNDS TO ACTIVELY SUPPORT AND ASSIST ILLEGAL ALIENS LIVING THERE. Some of these cities provide 'free legal advice to illegal aliens' fighting 'to stay' in the country. Others provide 'discounted housing' specifically for illegal aliens. Alarmingly, some dole out voting rights to their illegal residents. These are the ‘super-sanctuaries,’” said the new report.
CIS said that sanctuary movement is poised to become a major part of the immigration battles in Washington.
“Their politicians see these actions as part of a winning political strategy. As the fight for border security and immigration reform continues, super-sanctuaries may emerge as a new and growing player in the greater debate.
While this short list is not exhaustive, these communities continue to lead the state and local-level fight against federal immigration enforcement. The new and creative ways they have accommodated their illegal residents indicate their willingness to continue the political battle over the illegal population,” said the think tank.

Newark NJ wanted to attract these imports as even the permanent underclass there flees; the “newcomers” instead head to safer areas surrounding the city (where there is no shortage of vacancies - the taxpayers have been fleeing the state for years now). Newark wanted those federal wealth transfers (SNAP/WIC, Section 8, etc.) and instead gets boarded-up buildings...

The Feds do it because our population is shrinking without open borders (not necessarily a bad thing); Social Security is not the only pyramid scheme that needs new entrants on the bottom tier to function. Too many people collect paychecks from the open border situation; half the teachers in my town in NJ would be unemployed if immigration laws were enforced.
