Keep in mind—the deep state is more subtle than any beast of the field.
They would never have King try to pull something obvious. No. A much more effective tactic would be for King to send the subtle message that he—conservative icon Steve King of Iowa—didn’t think Trump was conservative enough. Right at what they thought was his most vulnerable hour—before the convention.
The reason this assault on Trump didn’t work is it was planned and executed according to the ways of the old system. In that old war, the war of conservative against liberal.
