>> Does everybody understand Trump is trying to make Congress work like it is supposed to?? That includes citizens calling their representatives and telling them what you want them to do. <<

Nice try. I am gerrymandered into a urban black-majority district that is safe Dem. My Congressman doesn't even care about the opinions of the people who DO vote for him, let alone the ones that don't.

Most Americans are in the same boat, about 70-80% of congressional seats are drawn so the opinion of constituents doesn't matter and their Congressmen can freely ignore them without consequence no matter how much they melt down the phone lines in DC.

But the "abolish the 17th amendment" crowd says its all fine and dandy since I can still vote for my Congressman in this rigged district and therefore it reflects the founding fathers wishes. Now if we just take away my vote for Senator in the one election politicians CAN'T rig due to the fact they are unable to gerrymander statewide legislative officials, everything will be splendid.

Mine is firmly Dem also... Heavily Latino. I had Raul Grijalvo until they redistricted us and now we have Ruben Gallego... Have not had a Republican option on my ballot for as long as I can remember, we finally had a Green choice in the general this year.

My only point is nothing will change if we accept what we have and don’t try to change it. Trump intends for us to have a government of the people again and can’t do it alone, I think the contact becomes a matter of public record too??

I know I am probably not making much difference when I call, but am having fun trolling them and thinking MAYBE I can get one of his interns to start using their head and thinking for themselves by some of the questions I ask.

I have been screaming to end the FED along with numerous fellow FReepers for years now, but that would put monetary policy back where it constitutionally belongs, in Congress... Can you imagine any recent Congress with control of our monetary policy... Thinking it would be making us wish we had the Fed again.

Prediction, Congress will look very different before Trump is out of office and will be functioning much more as our constitution intended them to do.
