On the other hand we (OR) had a teen pull and point a replica/pellet pistol at an officer. The video was captured on body cam. Officer told the kid to drop the weapon, which he did. A cop would have been justified shooting in that split second. Chief of police was near tears explaining the incident in how close the kid came to death.

That happened to a kid in Santa Rosa, CA a few years ago. He was carrying a fake plastic AR-15 that had had its red muzzle cap removed. He died in an instant at the hands of a sheriff’s deputy who happened to be the department’s weapons instructor.
