Germany's defense minister has revealed a controversial European joint army is "already taking shape"- thanks to her French allies. Germany and France are now the "driving forces" in European defense and they would stand together in the face of any land assault, said Ursula von der Leyen.

Will they have people willing to put their life on the line for the EU army?

Well, the German sub-unit of the "EU Army" will be better suited to deal with the enemy French yellow-vesters, than the French sub-unit.

And, vice-versa, should a German yellow-vest rising occur.

They have been systematically taking manliness out of males so you state a real concern. I am sure they still have some men willing to step up to do what has to be done but these would be the minority.

In some European military they have unions. Think about that one for a bit.

The only reason a Europe exist today is because the United State taxpayers have paid for their defense. The money they saved went into creating their Socialist utopia.

Well I wish them luck but I don’t think they have a chance in H*ll of surviving without big brother US backing them up.

World War One: 10 interpretations of who started WW1

As nations gear up to mark 100 years since the start of World War One, academic argument still rages over which country was to blame for the conflict. Here 10 leading historians give their opinion.

One could also argue that the stage was set for WWII by the allies harsh terms set by the allies after WWI. Hitler capitalized on the anger felt by Germans for the treatment they received after the Great War.

Are you telling me that the Frogs have capitulated before the Krauts even assemble an army? That is one way to keep the lovely architecture from getting all shot up.

Heard this in WW2. The EU was formed as a united group of nations agreeing to hold each other up from collapse a point that all have reached and surpassed before joining. They have no money So 5 tanks instead of two is hilariously funny but true

How ever, the prime German problem in WW II was lack of fuel to sustain an ongoing operation.

The same is true today.

Fortunately a sustained Russian attack would deped on troops being sober for more than a week

“Now the EU Army will have five tanks instead of two.”

The Europeans wouldn't fully support having a strong military in which the United States paid 70 percent of the cost.

Now they claim they will build a strong military in which they will step-up and pay 100 percent.

Sure.

If so, their first defense of “the EU” will be to re-invade Poland to bring into line.

Oh, wait, Poland is part of the EU and not in sync with Germany & France on military or numerous other issues, so can what the German defense minister is talking about actually be a “united” European defense force? No, it cannot.

This new French-German EU army has one big advantage. Any Russian attack must first go thru no-nonsense Poland. By the way, Ursula von der Leyen is the chick on the far right in the top photo.

The French units are now designated as the 33rd Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS Charlemagne.

Love it!

The building of a one world fighting force...right on time!...the book of revelation never fails!!

Except this isn't that. The EU is a joke. Anything they can muster would therefore be joke worthy.

America doesn’t need a Euro-dominated NATO. Negotiate one-on-one defence pacts with limited purposes for some key countries, such as Canada (NORAD, coastal defence) and the UK (strategic air base), and possibly Poland, Czech Republic, and Hungary. Pull all American troops out of the western Europe countries, as well as Turkey. If the Euro-zone wants to do its own thing, don’t stand in their way. Time for the deadbeats to start paying their own freight.
