Acting Chief Patrol Agent Raul Ortiz praised POTUS Donald Trump Thursday and claimed that it’s imperative to get walls or other substantial physical barriers built along the U.S.-Mexico border to stem illegal immigration and drug smuggling.

In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Ortiz added that it is so important to “finish the job” already begun in his sector, which comprises much of the Rio Grande Valley in Texas.

Hannity, citing the example of another sector of the border that went from 5 to 64 miles of fencing, decreasing illegal immigration by 90 percent, asked if that would happen in his sector as well.

"Most definitely," Ortiz said.

Sometimes the people who are ON SITE, who SEE the problem, know FAR better how to fix things than old men, and very old women who go to an Office in Washington D.C, and have to wade through a jillion emails, and a million phone calls. The guys on Border Patrol have spoken, lets support them... Reminds me how people in Washington D.C thought they could fix the Farm Problems in the days of Jimmy Carter, and all the Farmers rode to town on tractors. LET the BORDER PATROL make their recommendation, and lets go for it.

Over 40 years ago, Mr. Mercator and I drove our van down to Big Bend National Park. Nice RV campground. Bunch of snowbirds. Very nice hot springs. We then drove north west and parked off the road in the desert. All night long we heard cars and trucks driving about 200 yards south of us through the desert. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.

DHS has already announced where they plan to invest the next load of border wall funding.

If they get the ~$5 billion requested, they will build 104 more miles in the Rio Grande Valley.

That would be ball game over for that sector - door closed.

In fact, that ~$5 billion would button up where the bulk of the traffic is today (Rio Grande Valley, 55 miles around Laredo and the other main cities along the border).

That is why the Dems are going to the mat on this - it will really make a difference.

"After discussing the drug smuggling problem, Ortiz said the Mexican cartels are making a fortune every week on human smuggling.

“But I think what middle America and most people don’t realize is our cartels are making tons of money off of everybody who crosses this river,” he said. “$1.7 million a week are made into the cartel’s pockets from the unaccompanied children and family units that are crossing.” "

More than the cartels are making tons of money as a result of all this traffic. Guess who else doesn't want it to stop? /s

It's not all just about the money. It's their vampiric food supply that is at stake as well.

Undocumented people disappear a lot easier than documented ones.

As for the Mexican being able to “easily” saw them in half, MOUNT CLAYMORE MINES ON THEM! That will make it tougher for the boys with the saws to cut on them. It’s not rocket science.

If the dems think a wall is "immoral" why don't they go all in and call for the existing pieces of border wall to be torn down?

I mean...if they are immoral, why allow what's there to stand?

Would love to hear someone ask san fran nan that question.

She would either have to stop calling walls immoral, or she'd have to go full exposure and call for the existing barriers to be torn down, or she'd have to say existing border walls are ok but any new additions are immoral which of course makes no sense....then again, neither do the dems.
