Oceans make up roughly 70% of the earth. Oceans are five miles deep at some point. That is a lot of water. Just how much energy would it take to actually “warm” the ocean.
I once lived near a small lake in Michigan. This small lake never got warm, it was always cold. So how can a small body of water not heat up yet we are too believe that the vast ocean is warming up.
This article has been paraphrased and rewritten so many times over the years the oceans should feel like hot tubs by now.
This is a big issue for me. All the precision in average temperature measurement and calculation is highly questionable.

If I understand all of this correctly, the Oceans warmed due to sunspot activity during the 80s and 90s. However, the increased Ocean temps will cause a greater release of CO2 trapped in the ocean water.
AT THE SAME TIME, Sunspot activity is drastically decreasing, which means the Sun is cooling slightly. This is a historical trend. Might even be a Maunder Minimum level event.
The solution for that is to turn all monetary policy over to the UN and let them redistribute the wealth of the US to the rest of the world.
Makes perfect sense (rolling my eyes).

So if the oceans are warming I guess the Great Lakes are warming also. This is wonderful news. Now Chicago’s annual Polar Plunge will be more bearable.
