Ditos on Larry Carlton on “Don’t Take Me Alive” and “Kid Charlemagne”.

“The Royal Scam” is often called their “guitar album” as the great Larry carlton played lead and arranged half the tracks on that album.

Although “Kid” is a great track and lead guitar, “Don’t Take Me Alive” will always be my top fav of that album - it was the first track I heard and who I was with at that moment (my late wife who passed just 2 years later).

The most talented guitarist to play on a Steely Dan album was Denny Dias.

That’s my favorite from that album too, one of my all-time favorite SD songs, referring to “Don’t Take Me Alive”. I love the passive aggressiveness of that song. I also like “Gaucho”, the title song. I love Donald Fagen’s solo stuff, Nightfly, Kamakiriad. Love “Snowbound” and “Tomorrow’s Girls”, those last two songs have cool videos to them, you can see them on YT.
