Actually, unless the guards actually shoot people trying to get over the wall it has limited utility. I am in favor of ordering the guards to shoot to kill anyone getting over. Also, an automatic return of anyone who does get over. No court, no appeal and, banned permanently from any entry.

To your point, according to Senate rules, only a majority of the sworn Senators are required to have a quorum and conduct business.

So, if the House votes for impeachment, the Senate Dems won’t be able get their trial.

This is taking the oxygen out of the Dems attack plans. I wonder how impeachment woukd look as Trump asserts more power?

Can the Dems also block all nominations in the Senate too? Because, legislation is not too important, it’s the nominations that matters now.

[[“It’s my commitment to my federal workers and our country that the first order of business here should be the reopening of government,” said Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md. ]]

Note which comes first.

Ben, shut the southern portal please.

“Actually, unless the guards actually shoot people trying to get over the wall it has limited utility.”

Actually a wall is an impediment that allows Border Patrol people to gain the upper hand.

Putting one-year handcuffs on the first handful tends to discourage the others from invading.

Government shut down? No damage from Congress. Besides, Liberals, did you hear down your walls around your homes yet?

No one of these characters should be getting paid if they’re not working.

If I were Trump I’d ask the private sector, in consideration of future tax offsets, to hire and pay an army of H1B scabs to take over and keep the government running.

OMG...they are holding the law making machinery hostage! What will we ever do with no new laws? "The next Congressman that makes a move, the Senator gets it!"

If they kept the government shutdown in place permanently and unfunded, we’d have a balanced budget in no time.

“The less they work the better off we are.”...…..

When I managed a group of employees, if they refused to work, they either got fired or didn’t get paid. Problem solved itself.

Crickets.

They are all in cahoots. The whole lot of them deserve to be run out of town on rails, tarred and feathered.

McConnel gavels the Senate in to recess. Trump rapidly packs the courts with recess appointments.
Apoplexia ensues.
