Sounds heartless, but it wouldn’t be so bad if that scenario should become reality. Because that and much worse will happen when the US Dollar collapses.
The Congress and big media and talk radio have been quite content lately with the US debt going parabolic. Nobody raises an eyebrow at trillion dollar deficits anymore.
Maybe, just maybe, this ‘trial run’ will cause the electorate to demand some fiscal responsibility.

All the Dems have to do to end this “pain” to their constituents is to agree to a relatively tiny appropriation for funds to build a wall that most Americans want anyway. If they can’t do that, then put the blame where it belongs. As for the people wringing their hands of the “shutdown”...quit being such a milksop!
