POTUS Donald Trump is scheduled to visit the U.S. Southwest border on Thursday amid an ongoing humanitarian crisis and government shutdown over Democrats’ refusal to sign off on a $5.7 billion funding request for border barrier construction.
The president will travel to McAllen, Texas, a border city of about 143,000, on the Rio Grande River as he continues to contemplate whether to declare the situation along the border a national emergency.
Such a declaration would allow him to use money earmarked for the military and already approved by Congress to begin construction of portions of the border wall.

Is INVASION a national emergency?
Well illegal immigration and immigration of our enemies is certainly INVASION!
And the Constitution MANDATES the federal government PREVENT INVASION (Art IV, Sec 4).

Sorry.. personal opinion.. but Texas is NOT western.. it is almost exactly in the center (South) of the USA.
Something like South Central would be more accurate :p
Or better yet.. The most independent state of the South :p

Yeah Southwest doesn’t really make sense. And they normally just say the southern border, there is no Eastern Southern border!
I can understand where it came from (1700s, 1800s, 1900s)... but, they need to update their geographic maps..

How about an ongoing national security crisis?! That's exactly what this illegal alien invasion is.
Enemy agents, terrorists, and organized criminals have been pouring over our southern border. And the diseases they are bringing with them is a public health nightmare! Democrats have been aiding and abetting this invasion, which is treason!
And the press can only bring themselves to call it an "humanitarian crisis"? By all means, Mr. President, declare this an emergency and build the wall.
Further, use the armed forces to build the wall, declaring martial law along the entire border construction zone. Then the armed forces can properly secure that portion of the border and protect its troops while building the wall.

Just watched his comments with the press on the WH lawn before leaving. He’s right on point with his answers from the biased press shouting at him. He’s standing firm on his position, no he won’t back down and he again stated very clearly his belief that this is a national crisis. He went beyond his past comments by saying the Dems are crazy — their opposition means they support crime, drugs, MS-13 etc. He ended, after someone shouted about support for the poor immigrants, by talking about those husbands, wives, families who have been separated due to crime by illegals who should not be here. Overall very forceful and the clip should be watched if you get a chance.

They also want to lower the age of consent, and very poor girls are an excellent source of pedophilia
And after watching that video of one of those freaks licking a door bell for three hours, it’s an alien invasion !
