You hate to see it. They never really stood a chance. The urge to meme is too powerful a force. At this point, Twitter’s collective mockery of the bizarrely staged Chuck Schumer-Nancy Pelosi response to President Trump’s Oval Office address is so savage it borders on cruelty.
But that’s okay. It’s worth it. Memes always are. Here’s a selection of our favorites from Tuesday’s historic pile-on:

Then without warning Schumer and Pelosi came on. I could only watch about 5 seconds and then had to turn the channel. It was sheer torture watching them.
But some people can find humor in even the most weird and unpleasant displays.

And they are worldwide. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving pair!
Nancy and Chuck did put on a funny side-show. They should consider getting out of Congress and heading for Hollywood. I’m sure they could get TV time for a gig.
From what I read online, the Alex Baldwin program might soon be gone. Nancy and Chuck could take over that spot.
