President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he has ordered a halt to federal emergency funds for California to fight wildfires and manage its forests unless officials in the western U.S. state can "get their act together."
"Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forrest fires that, with proper Forrest (sic) Management, would never happen. Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!" Trump wrote on Twitter.
Insurance claims from the recent spate of California wildfires, including one ranked as the most deadly and destructive in state history, have topped $9 billion and are expected to grow, the state insurance commissioner reported last month.

This isn't going to end until there is serious damage. It took Lincoln four years to break Democrat rebellion. This rebellion is just getting started. When the SNAP benefits end, people start getting hungry, and rioting starts in large cities, that might bring the Democrats to the table.
Trump has a wall - his veto pen and the Freedom Caucus in the House. This fight literally is over the survival of the Republican Party. Democrats know that, they sense blood. They are hoping enough Quisling Pubbies turn to over ride Trump - if that happens, there is NO LEGISLATION they will not push.

California is engaged in usurpation with the federal government and all federal funds should be ended until they return to sanity. They are not independent and the issue was settled 155 years ago and validated with a supreme court ruling that states cannot leave the union. Cut off the cash now.

Well, there’s one way to ensure that everyone buys into the man-made global warming hoax: extortion. Starting next year the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will stop funds from going to states that refuse to believe that humans are causing climate change.
This news comes straight from the leftist eco-nuts at Inside Climate News, so you can be assured that it isn’t a “paranoid” conservative interpretation of an innocuous FEMA regulation:
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is making it tougher for governors to deny man-made climate change. Starting next year, the agency will approve disaster preparedness funds only for states whose governors approve hazard mitigation plans that address climate change.
Sounds pretty fascist to me. If you have the truth on your side, you do not need to force people to believe it. Only liars and charlatans resort to bullying tactics like this.
This may put several Republican governors who maintain the earth isn’t warming due to human activities, or prefer to do nothing about it, into a political bind. Their position may block their states’ access to hundreds of millions of dollars in FEMA funds.
Basically it works like this: state governments must accept that man-made global warming is real and commit public funds to programs designed to mitigate the effects of it, even if it isn’t real. State governments that fail to do this will loose out on millions, if not billions, in FEMA funds...

Yeah. I think that announcement was the straw that broke Trump’s (may re-=election be upon him) proverbial camel-back.
FEMA money is one of the main pots of money that the President could use to fund emergencies that he needs to declare - like securing the Southern Border.
The Homeless are still going to burn everything down regardless.
You know, of course, that his spelling “forrest” with two Rs
in it is a hidden communication and a message to certain
more enlightened followers to search the movie “Forrest Gump”
for clues about Gitmo and Military Tribunals and baby-eating satanic
crazy people... and an island somewhere.
So California and Gov. Moonbeam can give the Finger to Trump, allow Sanctuary Cities and disregard federal laws all day long.

CA is a big strategic military venue for the entire U.S. I would prefer to charge, arrest and prosecute those responsible for decades of this violent carnage the Democrats and many Republicans have directed and produced.
