Newly sworn-in California Gov. Gavin Newsom, vowing to provide “sanctuary to all who seek it,” has proposed extending state health care coverage to more illegal immigrants living within the Golden State’s borders.

Hours after assuming office, Mr. Newsom released sweeping health care proposals to raise the age limit for illegal aliens covered by Medi-Cal from 19 to 26, which would make California “the first state in the nation to cover young undocumented adults through a state Medicaid program,” according to a Monday release from the governor’s office.

Mr. Newsom, who ran on a universal health care platform, also proposed expanding Obamacare subsidies to middle-class earners and reinstating the Obamacare individual mandate at the state level.

“No state has more at stake on the issue of health care. California must lead,” said Mr. Newsom in a statement. “We will use our market power and our moral power to demand fairer prices for prescription drugs. And we will continue to move closer to ensuring health care for every Californian.”

Wondering how many state run programs have federal money kicked in like SNAP and Medicaid? It’s easy for this new gov. moonbeam to promise all this free stuff in his amnesty for all scheme if only California taxpayers were paying for his largesse, but most of these programs get to kick the taxpayers from the other 49 states in the teeth.

California is a lost cause, I have lived here my entire life. If it wasn’t for the fact that the majority of my family is here(The rest are in Israel) I would have left this state a long time ago..its gone..Reagan is weeping

We are going to Jamaica in 2 weeks. I am on a forum for the resort we going to. One of folks there slipped and got a broken arm and hurt her back. She went to the hospital. Before they would even treat her they estimated costs and told her she would have to pay cash. It was 15,000. She had to have surgery, pins in her arm, MRI, hospital stay for 3 days, etc.

Here, they go to ER and can’t get refused for emergency treatment. If you can’t afford it, they fill out Medicaid app either way you get treated.

They will get a bill eventually, but if no income, no payment, gets wrote off as bad debt.

Does Newsom say how he will pay for this, of course not. Once people find out that it will be a new tax coming out of their checks it might get their attention. That tax will be anywhere from 15% to 20% and for many that will impact their ability to pay for basics, like food and rent. Perhaps that will be the tripping point. Also who will buy their bonds at some point? If I had money to invest California Bonds, state & municipal, would be dead last on my list.

Can't hardly afford to pay for any insurance for my wife and it comes with sky high deductibles, and these friggin thieves in the night, invaders, are given Medi-Cal with no friggin deductibles and the equivalent of Cadillac care at some of the best hospitals and from of the best physicians in California.

CA is trying to do what NY and NJ are in terms of funding a foreign, non-contributing population: Use as many federal programs as possible, because the states can’t afford them. They believe dumping illegals into an area, and using Section 8, SNAP, WIC, etc. will inject enough funds into the area to make it work - paid for by ALL the states.

Americans fleeing these states for others are getting the bill, just in a different tax.
