Skip to comments.Democrats Faked Online Push to Outlaw Alcohol in Alabama Race
Posted on 01/07/2019 9:18:22 AM PST by reaganaut1
The Dry Alabama Facebook page, illustrated with stark images of car wrecks and videos of families ruined by drink, had a blunt message: Alcohol is the devils work, and the state should ban it entirely.
Along with a companion Twitter feed, the Facebook page appeared to be the work of Baptist teetotalers who supported the Republican, Roy S. Moore, in the 2017 Alabama Senate race. Pray for Roy Moore, one tweet exhorted.
In fact, the Dry Alabama campaign, not previously reported, was the stealth creation of progressive Democrats who were out to defeat Mr. Moore the second such secret effort to be unmasked. In a political bank shot made in the last two weeks of the campaign, they thought associating Mr. Moore with calls for a statewide alcohol ban would hurt him with moderate, business-oriented Republicans and assist the Democrat, Doug Jones, who won the special election by a hair-thin margin.
Matt Osborne, a veteran progressive activist who worked on the project, said he hoped that such deceptive tactics would someday be banned from American politics. But in the meantime, he said, he believes that Republicans are using such trickery and that Democrats cannot unilaterally give it up.
If you dont do it, youre fighting with one hand tied behind your back, said Mr. Osborne, a writer and consultant who lives outside Florence, Ala. You have a moral imperative to do this to do whatever it takes.
The discovery of Dry Alabama, the second so-called false flag operation by Democrats in the fiercely contested Alabama race, underscores how dirty tricks on social media are creeping into American politics.

Seems like a classic case of projection.
Reported in the NYT?
I’m going to faint
Hey Alabama. “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”
At some point, early on (while it was still Strange versus Moore in the GOP primary), there was a radio station in state (Birmingham area) which had two moderators, and they’d bring on some mega-church guy and they were bending everyone to vote Moore, and then as all the Moore-scandal stuff came....they bent everyone to go for Jones.
It was obviously set-up early on, to rig the situation, and via the radio trio....they probably gave 50-percent of GOP-to-Jones votes. No one speaks about them now.

illustrations of stark images of gruesome car wrecks. A Twitter feed accompanied the Facebook page.
Both were falsified electronically, vilifying faith-based supporters of the seated candidate's opponent.

It did the trick, now they want to get it banned so the Republicans cannot respond in kind for the next election.
Of course, he only lost by 12,000 votes and only AFTER:
- Two bot campaigns by Democrat groups (one costing $750,000)
- McConnell endorsed his opponent and gave millions to him.
- Hollywood celebrities campaigned against him
- The DNC and RNC/McConnell LAC spent $50 million additional against him.
- Fake sexual allegations surfaced
These idiot FReepers bought the MSM/DNC/GOPE/PAC lies completely!
These FReepers should be always ignored as LIBERAL PLANTS!!
Yet another great reason to take down Doug Jones in 2020. This has to be a conservative pick up in the US Senate.
Same strategy they used for the 2016 elections if you believe the Wikileaks email. Build up the bad “pied-piper” candidate in primary to have an easier time in the general.
The left projects. I have yet to see a case where the GOP play the same dirty tricks the Dems do like they did here.
A secret effort to influence the 2017 Ala Senate election used tactics inspired by Russian disinformation teams, including the creation of fake
accounts to deliver misleading messages on Facebook to hundreds of thousands of voters that helped elect Democrat Doug Jones in the deeply
red state by a hair-thin margin, according to a document obtained by The W/P. (Excerpt) Read more at washingtonpost.com ...
Now if Moore or his supporters have evidence that Facebook refused their messages in his favor.....that could make an interesting case.
Tip of the iceberg. They probably spend 100 million or more to get Roy Moore. Money was no object.
Democrats are scum.
Hillary used a similar trick: she mfg falsified dirt about Donald——leaking it to the obedient MSM that ran with it.
Hillary would then triumphantly wave around the news reports to show that she was the superior candidate.
” underscores how dirty tricks on social media are creeping into American politics.”
As if this is new. The rats can and will do anything with impunity. Having MSM totally on your side is such a huge advantage. And in this case the GOPe including Magoo were fine with having the Rat win so Moore would not become Senator.
If the RNC had any sack on em, they’d run Moore again.
He was RAILROADED out of that seat!
No doubt the Roy Moore accusers were bought and paid for by liberal organizations
I think “Matt Osborne” should be arrested and tried for election fraud
As the Oldies goes: Please, don’t just stand there.
Does this stealth outfit have a 501(c)(3) certificate?
My guess is “yes.”
Crooked operation from the get-go, IMHO.
