In the election before when it was Cuomo vs Astorino, the head elected republican in the state, Dean Skelos, supported Cuomo over the candidate from his own party. Skelos has since been jailed for corruption for another matter.

The NY Republican party is a joke. They don’t fight for anything. They sometimes don’t even run candidates in certain areas. They act is if they are the subordinate wing of the democrat party. There is no way it can be changed without to complete flush of the party leadership. I’ve written several letters to them expressing my disgust with them, they just send me campaign contribution surveys. I give them nothing.
