My reasoning was a bit of both. I’m not retired, but can do my work remotely (which would be crazy revenue in some countries), and if I got lucky, I would be “left alone” and therefore “be free”. It’s complicated, and will take more soul searching if I ever loop back on the thought.
The difference is I wouldn’t need to find employment in Honduras, unlike I imagine the majority of folks in the caravans.
I want to go to Andromeda but have no one to go with and no way to get there. Anyone know how I could hitch a ride out there?
The Hitchhikers Guide To The Universe might have some helpful hints.
My brother’s gf lives there.
I have heard of that. Thanks for the tip. ;)

You might want to consider this: Honduras in ranked number 9 in the most dangerous and unsafe countries in the world.
See here:
9. Honduras
Honduras is home to one of the world’s highest murder rates. The department of Gracias a Dios in particular is plagued with crime and drug trafficking, and also lacks police or military presence.
Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, and La Ceiba are other dangerous areas; 70% of US citizen homicides in the last seven years happened in these districts.
That’s good info/link. Thanks. Scratch one more off the list :P
(Thats why one earthquake or tidal wave might be a good thing.... Bring it....) (where CA is concerned) (tidal wave so you and I can buy cheap coastal property, see?)
I really meant, on leaving the entire USA, this chat by idiots (those who say they would leave, not FReepers discussing the subject) demonstrates how they take our Constitution for granted. I learned young enough that this document, our country, basically, protects each of us amazingly.
In some countries, I could be violently raped and MYSELF be imprisoned. To be violently raped in prison every day and die soon enough. In other, wonderful countries that everyone loves, in childbirth if there was something life threatening happening, they would save the baby and not me. We take our Constitution for granted, but its an amazing document.
The American rule of law is something most take for granted. And imagine that the rest of the world shares it.
Of course we took it for granted while lawless politicians in both parties refused to enforce our immigration laws for decades and what we now have in California is the result.
Sad AF.
The Constituton, as written - brilliant document done well
Enforcement of our constitutional laws - when we do it, our society works well (cops and legal system)
Where we mess up is in our representation. The public doesnt understand whom to vote for to win the chess game. They only know whom to vote for to get a piece of candy in the next 5 minutes. And our reps get to vote themselves money and all the hot sex they can handle apparently. What constituents??
One of my neighbors moved to Nevada after the Northridge quake.
A 7 Richter shaker might scare another crowd into heading for some place where the ground stays still.
You’d think massive wildfires would have a similar effect.
