Hundreds of soldiers returning from holiday break to Fort Sill got stuck at Will Rogers World Airport when roads to their Army post in Lawton, Oklahoma, about 80 miles (130 kilometers) to the southwest, became impassible. When word got out, families and public officials donated food. Soldiers got chicken wings Thursday and doughnuts Friday from Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt.

Now that's the America we grew up in.

Two many to share. If you got off any VN returning aircraft and were met by a bunch of loud mouth nasty vulgar hippies with signs in your face you would not have to ask me that question. Does VN “era” mean you served a tour? Just curious.

She and they weren’t Americans. They were scum then, and still are.

Welcome home, and thank you for all you did.

If you served during the Vietnam “era” but was never deployed to Vietnam, you are an “era” veteran. If you served in-country, then you are a Vietnam Veteran.
