Won't resign and there is no cause to fire him. Not likely to make the President happy.

Is Fed Chairman a position that is somehow protected by some law? What prevents a president from firing him for any reason or no reason at all?

Everyone says that Powell was selected by Trump, which is true but the Chairman of the Fed can only be selected from the sitting members of the Board of Governors, so his choices were very limited.

If Trump needed something to fire him I’m sure Trump would be able to find it. Powell is kidding himself.

Oh really?

So, what part of he’s serving at the pleasure of the president does he seem to fail to grasp? He may be doing a great job, but words like that tend to have unintended consequences to one’s future plans.

There is a lot of cause to fire him, he's failed in so many ways.

The work-around is to end the Fed altogether and sell money organically, but that would be taking the banksters toys away.

Another self-important, power-hungry swamp creature. President Trump should have cleaned house and disinfected these posts of Obamanation holdovers when he took office.

He can be fired “for cause.”

But the “cause” cannot be “Trump needed a scapegoat.”

...

I don’t know if there is legal cause, but he’s wrong. There’s little inflation and economic growth doesn’t cause inflation. He’s already cost us hundreds of billions of dollars in higher interest payment on Obama’s debt.

People got to jail for robbing you of thirty dollars. When you trash the economy as a Fed chief you’re a hero.

The debt began spiraling out of control when GWB "temporarily" lowered interests rates so the US could gear up to fight terrorism, and then pay off debt quickly. Instead, the DC crooks spent like drunken sailors (cliché, I know, to say it: apologies to drunken sailors) and it's still going on.

President Trump made a mistake, JMHO, by signing that first obscene budget from Ryan and His Traitors. The federal debt still isn't decreasing, balancing the budget isn't even mentioned. It can't end well. Later is better than never....those interest rates have to be raised to a reasonable level to (1) keep gov in check and (2) so responsible savers can make enough interest to save for their futures on FDIC CDs.

When this stooge was talking, the market started going down....after rising, in morning.

Maybe he wants to hear, “You’re Fired!”.

I think Powell got the message.

Trump just has to keep the boat afloat until the next election cycle while all around him try to scuttle it to take him out for their own petty and misguided reasons.

Who needs to be whipping back into shape is a GOP and candidates that can get the job done..

If the RINOs and sleepers of the Left who run as the Right’s candidates are cleansed either of their seat or their indifferent attitudes toward governing, good things can still happen.

If the same old mentality is carried forward by the current crop of GOP “leaders”, Trump’s victories will be pyrrhic as will the nation’s future.
