Orban is one of two or three great conservatives from eastern Europe in the past two or so decades.
Can people help me remember the others?

Vaclav Havel, John Paul II, Lech Walensa and Helmut Kohl. The various leaders of the Baltic States have been steadfast as well.

I understand that many in France are becoming more sceptical of the EU because of the hardships it has placed on their dairy farmers, truck drivers, and costs of goods and services for the average people. Also, in the wake of some horrific murders of young Italians, Italy is turning away many more asylum seekers from North Africa, sometimes citing major differences in culture. Austria, as well, is very closely divided politically on which direction to go, sovereign control or to admit more refugee invaders as decreed by the Angela Merkel and the EU. And it seems that England is coming to its senses as well as they attempt to extricate themselves from the EU while state owned BBC, as a result of the brexit vote last year, has altered the scripts on the new Poirot Agatha Christie series to ahistorical nonsense.
