The myth the community believes in, is that the DAs office intentionally sabotaged the case. This is them punishing folks who didn’t lynch the officer.
Yes. The “community “ decided they wanted revenge. Regardless of facts. Or justice.
The prosecutors did not sabotage this case, but anyone who thinks prosecutors don’t sabotage cases in order to protect public employees and to reduce the possibility of a successful civil rights law suits against the government is naive. It’s the norm rather than the exception.
Yep. This is the new script BLM is following. We are watching it unfold here in Birmingham/ Jefferson County. Started back on Black Friday when a Hoover PD officer shot and killed a 21 yoa black man in the Galleria Mall (largest in AL) immediately after a shoot-out between several young black men. A small group from BHM has been staging relatively non-vilolent, but disruptive protests around Hoover, a bedroom community SE of BHM which is majority white and middle class to upper middle-class. The state AG has assumed oversight of the investigation from the Jefferson County DA. The protestors just finished a walking protest through the neighborhood of the state AG in Montgomery. They are pushing the agenda that a police cover-up is going-on and that the state AG must return oversight of the investigation to the newly elected Jefferson County DA, a black man.
