The President is reaching out to Americans who voted for Romney. He doesn’t expect or care about support from “Mitt”.
Two passages come to mind in reading this tweet and please forgive inaccurate recitation. First is, “a gentle answer turns away wrath” and the other is “show kindness to those who hate you, and you will be pouring burning coals upon their head”
There’s a good chance that many Romney voters are familiar with those passages and will respond positively to the Presidents’s message.
