A coaching position in the NFL is a high profile job with many critics, especially the fans. You either produce or you will be looking for a job. Affirmative action hiring doesn’t work in high profile positions like coaching where one bears the brunt of responsibility. That said, Tony Dungee ranks as one of my most admired football coaches.

I said a long time ago that one reason it took so long to get a black head coach is that nobody wanted to be the first person to fire a black head coach for this very reason.

The two black head coaches still in the N.F.L. are Anthony Lynn of the Los Angeles Chargers (12-4), who are headed to a wild-card playoff game Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, and Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-6-1).

Losing black coaches were fired. Winning black coaches were retained. Shocking!

I grew up on the 50s and 60s and coached and played. My father had black players on his softball team in a town where that wasn’t cool to do. He went to state championship every other year or so so I guess it was OK. I learned if you can play, it doesn’t matter your skin color. I grew up and judged employees by performance not skin color based on my experience with sports.

Liberals have destroyed so many things, including sports. Imagine if we made a fuss and got more white players and asians in the NBA to balance things out. That is the consequence of all the bullshit they try to impose. Ruining sports for the sake of PC and obvious power plays and ethnic politics.
