There is nothing positive that has come from “normalizing” relations with red China except a new Cold War. Nobody deserves credit for a disaster.

We will definitely have to disagree over that one. It kicked China into an entirely different historical arc. You can criticize the present one all you like but it's better than where they, or we, were in 1970, and in my opinion contributed in no small part to the subsequent fall of the Soviet Union.
