URGENT ACTION NEEDED! December 28, 2018

Dangerous Orwellian Data Mining Bill On President’s Desk

Our 4th Amendment right to privacy is at stake. Despite public opposition, the Senate rammed through Foundations for Evidence-Based Policy Making Act (H.R. 4174) during the lame duck session. This bill is a de facto national database on every citizen. H.R. 4174 was originally drafted by Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and rammed through the house on a voice vote. Knowing the massive public opposition, the Senate has quietly sat on the bill for a year until after the election and then rammed it through on a unanimous voice vote in the midnight hours of 2018. The lawmakers’ justification of the bill is the need to monitor the effectiveness of federal programs yet Congress already has volumes of information about the ineffectiveness of many federal programs that they ignore and continue to fund. Congress is also ignoring the dangers of this freedom killing bill. • Any bureaucrat can propose to collect data on any citizen and any topic for answers to policy questions. • There are no actual bans on data collection, regardless of the sensitivity. • Congress can identify any statutory or other restrictions on collecting and accessing personal data for the purpose of overturning them. This includes repealing both the current ban on prohibiting a national college student unit-record and the ban on creating a national K-12 national student database. Already H.R. 2434 has been introduced to remove those bans. • Congress can use all these data mining plans to develop a national database for the entire federal government. The bill does not overturn the ban on national databases at this point but its extensive data linking/sharing does create a de facto national database. The data will remain housed at the collecting agency but will be shared widely with others. This poses a major security threat to student data held at the U.S. Department of Education and at the states’ longitudinal data systems. This legislation sets up lifelong tracking of individuals by the federal government using education, employment, wage, and workforce data. This data can also be hacked by outsiders such as China and Russia that notoriously hack for personal information. Our U.S. Representatives have placed our freedom at high risk with their naivete about the bill’s privacy repercussions. So it’s up to us as American citizens to warn the President before he signs it into law. ________________________________________ Contact President Trump to veto H.R. 4174! email at http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact or @POTUS or @realDonaldTrump on Twitter! The link you provided doesn’t go to the article. I was hoping maybe the original source had some paragraphs in it so could be read.

There must be another group with the same name. This is an organization that focuses on education and my friend Dr. Carole Haynes is one of the founders:

http://www.americancitizensmatter.com

The text that I posted is the entire text from an email this group sent out to everyone on their mailing list. I could not find an article on the topic.

I’m sure that you can research HR 4174 for more information.

My apologies if this was an inappropriate post.

My suggestion is to read the articles to see why she is opposing Betsy DeVos. I do not follow education issues closely, but Dr. Haynes is a longtime friend and I’m positive she researches the issues deeply.

The culture war we are experiencing and the heavy socialist trending in youth are directly attributed to the indoctrination children and young adults are receiving in the public schools and all universities. She is doing everything she can to reverse the indoctrination and restore true education.

The levels of indoctrination are increasing and the levels of education in our nation are declining.

Here is a link to videos from my tea party group (Far North Dallas Tea Party). You have to scroll down past the general videos to the meeting videos. Dr. Haynes last presentation to our group is the 3rd meeting down dated: May 17, 2018:

I do not have a video level link. You may still disagree, but I have found her work to be very worthwhile. We are a very small tea party group and our videos are not professionally done. . .grass roots stuff.

"Knowing the massive public opposition, the Senate has quietly sat on the bill for a year until after the election and then rammed it through on a unanimous voice vote in the midnight hours of 2018."

Patriots need to support Pres. Trump in politically “forcing” Congress to close its cowardly loopholes.

Also, patriots not only need to support Pres. Trump in working with the states to repeal the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments, but patriots also need to support him in moving tax day, now April 15th, to the day before election day.

This sounds like a lot of fearmongering, without saying anything about what the bill actually does.

This legislation sets up lifelong tracking of individuals by the federal government using education, employment, wage, and workforce data.

It is illegal for the government to spy on people. However, the government does know where you live, where you work, and how much you earn; you give this information to the government whenever you file a tax return, register your car at the DMV, etc. Furthermore, it is a very naïve person who does not think the government keeps population-level statistics on educational status, employment numbers, average/median wages, etc. That data is all maintained by the Department of Labor, a resource that I advise young people to use when they are thinking about their future plans.

So, what is actually in this bill, and why is it a concern over and above the information that the government already maintains about individuals and the population?

Great points. There is also a little known House rule from around 1928 that limits House membership to 435. It used to be that when the census was taken, as the population grew, the House would determine how many new seats to add. In 1928 they froze it because there wasn’t enough space for more members.

Revoking that rule which also looks like a change to the Constitution, would be a great benefit. The Constitution says there should be no more than 1 member for every 30,000 citizens. Now it is somewhere around 1 member for every 710,000 citizens. That is why members represent their donors instead of their voters.

I have not examined this closely, but I think one of the main things it does is to include all school records for all children.

I remember from my elementary and high school days back in the 60’s and 70’s that teachers used to threaten us that whatever was in our school records would follow us for life.

That would be a great leap for socialism. It’s not just that they’re keeping general statistics, but detailed information that would be globally and readily available to every government agency.

But, if you’re comfortable with trimming the 4th Amendment to the Constitution, that is certainly your choice ;)

"...American Citizens Matter IS A LIBERAL RAG?!?!?"

Did you go to the website? Here's excerpts from their MISSION STATEMENT:

American Citizens Matter informs and provides a platform for citizens to unite against the attacks to our institutions and our people from enemies within and without. We are dedicated to restoring our founding principles and putting American citizens first in all things...

Today the ruled attend churches and synagogues while the rulers are fanatically contemptuous of religion and those who are religious. They are openly hostile to the American military...

As these self-appointed elitist rulers seek to redefine the identify of America and its citizens, the “deplorables” are rising up to reclaim their founding principles and to “make America great again.”...

Liberals deny the importance of the common man – the ordinary American citizen -- in making America a great nation. Rather they seek to destroy our founding principles, culture, and institutions and to impose their own ruthless, authoritarian agenda upon nearly 328 million people.
