Can we just hold it until the new senate members are sworn in.
Are congress critters sworn in?
All bills die at the end of the session, I believe.
Nope. Bills die when the Congress ends. If a new House wants to pass the same bill as the prior House they must go through the process again. The process may be very swift if there is a strong desire to have the bill passed. The bill goes to the Senate next. Note that if the bill originates in the Senate the same principles apply. They must re-pass the old bill before sending it to the House. Note that I am assuming that the Congress will obey that old thing called the “Constitution”.
When the new House members are sworn in Jan. 3 the loathsome leftist Nancy Pelosi will become Speaker of the House. If this current bill is not passed by both houses and signed into law before the current Congress ends its term then a new bill has to be created and the Pelosicrats will have much more control over that process.
