Your dad had LUNG cancer for SEVENTEEN years?? Are you serious? How is that possible? I’m kidding, but I’ve known 7 people who had it who died within a year. Two of them, a female co-worker (who chain smoked) and my neighbor both died within a MONTH after being diagnosed. But I mean talk about being freaked out, there was a time where I thought I was going to get it as it seemed everyone was getting it. My mechanic got it died within a year, same with my friends sisters husband.

Yep, started as thyroid and moved to lung. He had 2 or 3 surgeries and really lived a normal life for the first 15 years or so. The last year and a half were bad. He smoked during the war when he was in the Navy but then never again. But that’s when smokers smoked indoor everywhere so he was probably exposed to tons of second hand smoke. He died in 1995.
