“They don’t even tell you – what does that mean, ‘the government shut down’? First of all, that phrase is a lie; the government doesn’t shut down. You’ll be long dead – your children and your grandchildren too – before this government shuts down, unless it shuts down from a financial and economic collapse. But, legally? No.

“Now, that’s 25 percent of the government that’s subject to a shutdown – but that’s not even true – because, of that 25 percent, they have what’s called essential and nonessential employees and tasks. A significant percentage of the 25 percent is said to be essential. And as I’ve told you before, many years ago, when I had Paul Ryan on this program, when he was actually conservative – I think he was heading the appropriations committee – he said, that under the worst of circumstances, 17 percent of the government is effectively shut down

IRS employees will be paid back pay if there is a shutdown...for not working. Fact.
Most don’t know what a shutdown would be. Test them.
But the thing is Trump doesn’t have to shut anything down because he does not need approval to build the freakin wall! Without question our borders are a national emergency. they are under attack. He is REQUIRED to defend our borders so he can quite easily write an executive order, construction on the wall begins immediately. WHAT the F is he waiting for?
At this point I can only assume that he doesn’t actually want to build a wall.
Either that or he is being blackmailed, it makes no sense. Look at Obama, all the executive orders that guy pumped out for the most inane crap, and Trump can’t issue one to defend our borders and save lives? What the hell?

I’m beginning to think that Trump has far less control of a mutinous exec branch than even we think and that he is trying to move ahead and avoid us finding out that they refuse to follow orders.

I don’t know. Right now I am terrifically unimpressed with all the “winning”.
Refusal to follow a lawful order is grounds for arrest and prosecution.
