EU: Peace plan not based on 'two-state solution' will fail

Eight European Union member states on Tuesday warned that US President Donald Trump’s so-called “Deal of the Century” would fail unless it is based on the internationally agreed parameters for a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian Arab conflict.

The statement by France, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany and Italy followed a UN Security Council meeting on the Middle East in which US Ambassador Nikki Haley discussed the peace plan being prepared by the Trump administration.

“We, the European Union members of the Council, would like to reiterate once more and emphasize the EU’s strong continued commitment to the internationally agreed parameters for a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, based on international law, relevant UN resolutions and previous agreements,” said the ambassadors from the eight countries.

Any peace plan that fails to recognize these internationally agreed parameters would risk being condemned to failure, said the statement.

“The EU is truly convinced that the achievement of a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as the capital of both States, that meets Israeli and Palestinian security needs and Palestinian aspirations for statehood and sovereignty, ends the occupation and resolves all final status issues, in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2334 and previous agreements, is the only viable and realistic way to end the conflict and to achieve just and lasting peace,” it continued. …

In other words, the only acceptable solution is total surrender by Israel.

Don’t they mean the palisteeniuhn problem? FTEU. Europe was a lot more fun when it was a bunch of different countries.

A one state solution will be employed when Christ returns. It will last.

It wasn’t a bunch of different countries for very long, though. The EU, no matter what its name was at any point in its history (starting in 1951 as the European Coal and Steel Community), was always virulently anti-Israel.

I’ll go along with that if the Palestinians can name one, just one Palestinian king.

The Palestinian problem is that the Muslim calling the shots among the Palestinians or gleefully following the program won’t live peaceably with others.

And they had better not say “Abimelech”, because that would be a lie.

They didn’t even use the name “Palestine” during the days of the Ottoman Empire; they called Israel “Southern Syria”.

After experiencing the joys an independent, militarized adjacent Palestinian state in Gaza, there are no rational Israelis who envision an adjacent Palestinian state as a peaceful neighbor and a long term political solution. Europeans can afford to make mistakes, the Israelis can only make one. There will never be real peace with the Palestinians. If either the Israelis or the Palestinians make the concessions necessary, they deny the rational of their own existence. Peace will only come to the region when either the Palestinians or the Israelis cease to be a definable political entity. Harsh, but that is reality.

That second state would harass Israel forever. But what other options are there?

If Israel simply annexes the West Bank, millions of Palestinians would eventually become Israeli citizens. And with their higher birthrate...they would have a real impact on future Israeli elections.

Some folks say just let Jordan take ‘em. No way would Jordan ever agree to that. It would be like the US taking responsibility for all of Mexico.

Then there is the status quo option. Continued soft Israeli occupation of the West Bank, forever.

Is there an option I’m missing?

I’m surprised Poland signed on with this. There must be a story behind that.

You do know what the goal of the “Palestinians” is, right? To wipe out of the state of Israel, not to “harass” it.

The EUSSR by citing the so-called “1967 borders” means that they want a war to start in the region, so they can try to muscle in once they get the military they continue to push for.

Sadly it is. Theresa May found that out the hard way.

It’s trying to turn itself into an empire. It would be a big mistake to let them do that.

1948Palestinians didn't exist prior to 1948 - this is something I post from time to time when the issue of Palestine and Israel come up:

There was an Israeli state in the land of Israel 2000 years before the evil prophet of Islam allegedly flying on a "magical horse" from Mecca to Jerusalem.

I only used the word “harass” because Israel would never permit anything stronger to occur. But yes, you’re right. Deep down every Palestinian wants Israel gone, completely. And I’m sure that’s just what they’re teaching their children.

The “night journey” on Al-Buraq (an Islamic version of Pegasus, how about that) had Mahomet being taken to “the farthest mosque” and there is no mention of Jerusalem.

This horse called Al-Buraq was supposed to have been the horse of the other prophets. Funny there is no mention of it anywhere else; certainly none in the Old or New Testaments. Hadiths by Bin Ishaq tell crazy stories of this horse flying Abraham from Canaan to Mecca in the morning to visit Hagar and Ishmael, and then flying him back home in the evening to Sarah and Isaac.

There will only be peace in that part of the world when the last Muslim is DEAD.
