Do you really think much gets accomplished on Christmas eve? Heck, it’s government, not much gets accomplished on any given day, however, I think its a good move.

My wife works for the State. She doesn’t get Monday off. Full day as usual.
Only if it lands on a weekend.
For me, Christmas Eve is even better than Christmas Day itself. So having that day off is pretty important to me.
Frankly, nothing will be accomplished at all between December 21-Jan 2. In offices I’ve worked in the past, it’s goof off time. Long lunches, holiday parties, gift exchanges. In a lot of fed offices it’s always goof off time anyway.
Not all govt employees are laggards. Some of us worked our asses off in spite of the lazy bastards around us.
