No, it’s not that simple. Sure, the thought of the President winning such a victory appalls them, but the thought of the U.S. having an effective border barrier horrifies them far more.

I’ve listened to Rush off and on since 1992. Started with his TV show.
I can remember when he had Chris Matthews guest host. I also remember when he told his listeners the FBI was going to get Hillary and how Comey was an honorable man.
I don’t think I listen more than an hour or two per month these days and it’s generally when I want to hear his Baghdad Bob impersonation for how the GOP screwed us today.
Too many of the ‘Conservative’ media is just farming their listeners for cash. “We can defeat the dems and if you’ll buy my latest book for 29.99 I’ll tell you how.”

I was a daily listener from the time I found him looking for Gulf War news in 1990 when Saddam invaded Kuwait.
I was in and out of the truck so I didn’t catch it all, but he always struck me as an entertainer first.
He used to be a lot funnier.
I’m not driving every day anymore, so it’s rare that I tune in.
You are right, he carried the water for the Bush League Republicans until it nearly cost him his audience, he has been astute enough to appear to be on the side of the citizens and the rule of law.
What does bother me is there will never be any recall or mention when such conditions get reviewed over Government shutdowns Of the most costly one during Nixon’s presidency. Caused by the democrats refusal to stand by the Vietnamese effort to remain independent by refusing them air support and supplemental funding of arm supplies which would have prevented that loss and disgraceful evacuation of our Saigon embassy. Which quickly then resulted in thousand of Vietnamese being slaughtered and the sacrifices of thousands of our armed forces paying with their lives assisting them in their fight for freedom disgraced.

Let this one sink in for a spell...think of the billions spent during this War on drugs over the last four or so decades...and they won't allocate 5 billion to the presidents efforts!
Think of the hundreds of billions that would have been saved if there were physical barriers constructed. The billions saved on drug interdiction, incarceration costs, lower crime, insurance rates, lower state/federal/local taxes, lower medical costs, fewer infrastructure expansions due to 20-40 million illegals placing additional stress on our systems. Think of the millions of $$’s that could have been spent on Americans needs, veteran's needs.
Just wears me out these politicians placing party before the needs of Americans.
