From what I have read about him, he probably was a racist.
We have a Redeemer. And the liberals hate Him, too.
I don’t know what the problems were during his day, but Africa has been a hot mess for a long long time.
If it weren’t for Westerners and even sometimes the world’s Communists, they would be dying off in massive numbers.
Of course those entities have cost African lives too.
Management of foreign leaders seldom works out well. I think some of our own attempts to help went sideways. Buy and large, I think the West has done a massive amount of work for good on the African continent, but from our government and private groups.
Ah yeah, that was back around 1899. Gandhi received both the Queen's South African Service Medal with several clasps, the Edward VII Coronation medal and the King's South African Service Medal for his service during the South African (Second Boer War) with a field ambulance unit organized by Indians resident in South Africa. The man displayed pure guts as a stretcher bearer evacuating wounded from battlefields while the battle was in progress. How was he racist?
I don’t know about racist, but he was definitely creepy and a real jerk at times.
The caste system in India is totally racist. Although considered illegal, a large segment of Indian society still hold strong beliefs about its enforcement.
The lighter the skin, the higher the cast. the Dalits (Untouchables) have no cast, are very dark. They are considered outcasts of society. It’s strange that they are considered untouchable, and yet they are the one group that can handle the dead.
Conversion to Christianity in the past, allowed Dalits to escape from their preordained status, and prosper. Christians have been in India since the time of the Apostles, and yet now it is considered illegal for a Dalit to convert to Christianity.
The newest wave of intolerance dictates that Dalits must follow Hinduism, and must be forcibly returned to Hinduism.
An over rated “Mahatma”
Maybe they think he’s originally from Ghana. Ghandi / Ghana. I can see where they might make that mistake. (Just kidding)

I’d think that is why they are “untouchable” (contagion).
The Indian government has set up affirmative-action type programs to integrate the Dalits into society; I don’t know if it is posturing or real, but the government certainly can’t force higher castes to intermarry with them.
While India is the largest democracy in the world, they have a different understanding of the term - it is incompatible with a caste system.
It’s only acceptable to hate White people.
